Employment Opportunities with SCRU

Be a part of one of the fastest growing rugby regions in Queensland. The Sunshine Coast Rugby Union is accepting application for the following positions:

  1. Full Time Development Officer
  2. Part Time Development Officer/Trainee

Full Time Development Officer

Focusing on Secondary Schools and parallel junior competitions, the successful applicant would need to have demonstrated communication skills in dealing with students/players in the 13 to 18 years age group. This person would also need to have a current Queensland driver's license (C Class). Knowledge and/or experience in the game (player or official), current Level 1 and Smart Rugby accreditation, current First Aid certificate and current "blue card" will be highly regarded.

Part Time Development Officer/Trainee

Focusing on upper Secondary Schools and the transition to Colts age group, the successful applicant would need to demonstrate strong communication skills in dealing with this age group. This person would also need to have a current Queensland driver's license (C Class). Knowledge and/or experience in the game (player or official), current Level 1 and Smart Rugby accreditation, current First Aid certificate and current "blue card" will be highly regarded

Applicants will need to submit a summary of credentials which will be considered by a panel of SCRU staff before interviews and appointment of successful applicants by Friday 4th December 2010.

Summaries should include:

  • History of applicants association with the code as a player and/or offical (max 300 words). History to include evidence of ability to communicate with players/persons in the age group being considered. Please include 2 references and their contact details.
  • Levels of Accreditation in Rugby Union and other qualifications which may be deemed advantageous.
  • Associations with any other sports - if any (max 50 words).
