The Winning Hall Trophy reaches its conclusion this weekend. The competition has been deemed a success in its first year. The combination of the Queensland Suburban Rugby Union and Sunshine Coast Rugby Union in a first past the post competition has provided much needed variety for both clubs and players.
The trophy has been named after the first two Presidents of both associations. Keith (Arch) Winning born in Maleny was a Wallaby and ex Australian Captain. Bev Hall was the first female President of a rugby sub union anywhere in the world. She was a stalwart of both Maroochydore and Nambour Clubs. She and her husband Rob are both Life Members of the SCRU.
