There is something in them there hills…

Each year the anticipation of the coming year begins to build as we work our way through our pre-season training with our coaches and trainer bringing both new ideas and the painful fitness sessions.

The Toads are no different this year with Hamish Proctor again heading up Nambour’s A-Grade team and the famous Toad club spirit evident again. Ben Bryan and Clinton Fullagar are back again this year to lead a strong senior playing group, plus the Palmwoods Hotel are back on board as the after-match and Sunday venue for the players.

Barry McCarthy, the Nambour President, says “There is a great opportunity for fringe A-Grade players at other clubs to come and join the Toads this year and improve their chances of playing in the top grade each week.”” We also have a great social scene and fantastic club spirit”, he said.In additional to the Nambour Club, the town is also working hard to re-brand itself for businesses and there are a number of new housing developments that are attracting young families and adult couples. There are also a number of trendy new cafés and restaurants opening around the region. What better way to get into the new feel of the hinterland and get involved with their local rugby club?

The Toads are keen to grow their numbers and would welcome both school leaves, uni students, tradies and old heads, or past players keen to enjoy a game of rugby with their mates. Training is at Victory Park, Laidlaw Rd West Woombye from 6pm to 7;30pm on Tuesday & Thursdays, or contact Hamish Proctor (Head Coach) on 0437 824 804.

A traditional county rugby club, a rejuvenated town, good coaches, great social buzz… Sounds like an opportunity for some of the local blokes to get on board with the Toads this year!
